I hope you are well, Kris. This blog date is old, but I thought I would still respond for future reference or if you are still having issues.

First off, you got overcharged for the Acupuncture services. Google "Community Acupuncture" and hopefully you can find a Community Acupuncturist near you. They charge $15-$35, pay what you can afford. Community Acupuncturists have to pass the same rigorous National Board Exams and attain a Masters Degree to practice (as MOST states require) as the person who charged $150 for a treatment. There is no catch.

Secondly, Acupuncture is a therapy. It rarely resolves anything in one treatment, it might take 5-20 treatments, each one building on another. Not only is this based on 1000's of years of experience, but modern western medical knowledge. Acupuncture is taught to MDs at the UCLA and Stanford Schools of Medicine, and is used at most large hospitals including Mayo Clinic.

Yeah. I figured out that you were agreeing with me about half way through the reply.

I was all charged up. What do you want me to do. Though I would disagree that the music in my video would be considered a bit for bit copy.

Doesn't really matter either way (although I would love to know my rights better) b/c the video is back up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72nvDXRHUO0. I stated my case to YouTube and they let the video go back up.

Also; you could make a mix-tape, or any kind of tape, in high school because you were going digital->analog or analog->analog. That is not what we would now consider a bit for bit "copy".

Ok. But copyright laws were created to protect the owner of a piece of content/media. The protection was put in place so that others could not come by and claim that said piece of content/media was theirs and make a living off of the stolen material. This basic law also extends into distribution rights...

This is why you were able to make a mixtape for your girlfriend when you were in high school and not get arrested, however, if you made a copy of an album and sold it then you would be arrested. This seems to make sense to me; if I use the content/media for profit then I should pay for the rights to do so - if not then fuck off.

The DMCA extends original copyright laws even further and the act doesn't give too much wiggle room on the part of the consumer.

Though... maybe you were agreeing with me. I couldn't tell by the tone of your comment.

Your video was 5 minutes long. Probably 2 minutes of it featuring one piece of the song. I'm no fancy big city lawyer; but I would say that falls under "fair use". You should really tell YouTube to go scissor.
